| Clarinetist Glenn Dickson won a 1997 Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Grant for Composition and has studied and performed with microtonal jazz legend Joe Maneri. He has also toured and recorded with the eclectic rock band Hypnotic Clambake, and led Shirim Klezmer Orchestra for over 10 years. | Michael McLaughlin, performs and records with Boston rock band, ãThe Pee Wee Fistä and is pianist/composer with performance art troupe, Terra Nova. As a composer and arranger, he has had performances with the Arden String Quartet, Trio Capriccio, The Boston Chamber Ensemble and the Newton Symphony. |
| Tuba player, Jim Gray studied at Boston University with Sam Pilafian and has played with the Canton Symphony, The Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and toured the country and recorded with the Paramount Brass, featuring concerts with Boston Symphony Orchestra organist James David Christie. Jim first joined Shirim, Naftule's traditional sister, over 10 years ago. | Gary Bohan, trumpet, has recorded and toured with the Klezmer Conservatory Band throughout North America, Europe and Australia. He also recorded and toured with Itzhak Perlman on his"In the Fiddler's House," project which resulted in a PBS documentary and best selling recording. Gary is a stellar traditional jazz player, leading his own band "The Hot Vintage Jazz Band." |
| Eric Rosenthal, drums, has developed a prominent career playing jazz and improvised music, recording and performing internationally with the big band Either/Orchestra, Roswell Rudd, Anthony Braxton, blues artist David Maxwell, John Voigt, Bhob Rainey, Jack Wright and others. He is currently a member of the Charlie Kolhase Quintet, the Dave Bryant Quartet (Dave is a former member of Ornette Coleman's Prime Time) and the avant klezmer group "Paul Brody's Sadawi" based in Berlin. | Guitar and banjo player Brandon Seabrook has his own rock band AntiJazz Raygun and has performed and recorded with Ron Levy's Wild Kingdom, Paul Brody's NY/Berlin Klez Mix, Klezperanto and the Klezmer Conservatory Band. |
